We’ve moved
Yes, we’re still posting (after a long break). Due to some big events that have changed our lives we needed to start fresh. Please follow us now at

Happy Holidays in June!
I know I’ve been MIA lately. Part of my reason for being a recluse? I’ve been designing holiday photo cards. If you have a chance and feel like cooling off with thoughts of carols and snow, you can rate my designs on Minted.com. Top rated designs get sold and designers get commission on all sales. So not only would you be helping independent designers, you’d be giving input on what designs you think should be sold for the 2013 holiday season. These are the designs I’ve come up with (click on each design to take you to it’s rating page.)
Where Did March Go?
Yikes! I can’t believe that it’s been nearly a month since my last post. Life stuff has taken over my time. Hopefully April will be a bit calmer and give me time to get back to my normal routine. Have you ever had something take over your life so completely that you can’t seem to get away from it? I feel like I’ve lost a whole month focusing on one aspect of my life and letting everything else fall by the wayside.
April, I look forward to moving ahead and getting back to “it”!
Inspiration: Wall Wrap Branding
With an existing business specializing in anti-graffiti and urban maintenance services, this client came to Salad (a UK design agency) for ideas to help launch a new ‘wall wrapping’ product.
“The isometric grid based logo and pattern allowed us to demonstrate the potentially colourful and versatile nature of the material and gave us the perfect medium through which to communicate brand messages and personality.”

Inspiration: Handprinted Alphabet
Evelin Kasikov is the graphic designer who created this Handprinted Alphabet consisting of 26 lowercase sans-serif letterforms, 4 colours and 26773 stitches. It is an experiment in handmade type, ‘printed’ with needle and CMYK-coloured threads.
“I began by setting up a 4-layer halftone grid with 10 crosses per x-height. The screen for each colour is set at a different angle: Cyan 105˚, Magenta 75˚, Yellow 90˚ and Black 45˚. The challenge was to construct a coherent character set upon this grid. Each letter consists of four layers, Cyan being printed first and Black last.”
If you’re planning on throwing a baby shower and are looking for something unique, how about these? Colorful Laundry, available at Minted, was designed with a bit of humor and fun in mind. And below is an inspiration board to get the party planning started.

Inspiration: Botanical Photography
I love the mix of floral photography with the simple black and white illustrations shown in Kari Herer‘s work. Her photographs are a combination of hard and soft that create almost whimsical and romantic compositions. Visit her Etsy shop to view more of her beautiful botanical photographs.
Inspiration: Thymes Packaging
This beautiful packaging for Thymes Bergamot Vert bath products was created by Zeus Jones. The bold graphics have lots of energy, movement and convey the scent of the product line beautifully.

Making Faces Baby Shower Invitations
These baby shower invitations, called Making Faces, is available at Minted. The fun baby illustrations inspired me to create an inspiration board for what a shower featuring these invitations might look like. Did you know that Minted also has party decor to coordinate with their line of invitations? Check out their party decor here.

Inspiration: The Work of Jon Contino
Jon Contino‘s work has just the right amount of texture and hand drawn appeal to draw me in. While some illustrators use digital techniques that make their artwork look, well, digital, Jon seems to use a practiced hand to make his work look aged, naturally. See what I mean?
