Inspiration: Artwork from Historic Maps

Jason at LaFerrera creates original works of art from historic maps that pertain to a matching state. I like the Virginia Cardinal below, but there’s a nice selection to choose from at his Etsy Store. In addition, Jason just finished a Red Crowned Crane print made from maps of Japan. All of the proceeds from this print go toward helping the tsunami/earthquake victims in Japan via the Red Cross.

    Wow, these are beautiful! And to think that I felt creative after splitting an old map of the US into lots of mis-matched frames. This is so interestinig and beautiful.. Next up I’m checking out his etsy shop!
